NFL Draft Buzz is Building for Will Levis to the Indianapolis Colts
When the 2023 NFL season ended, early mock drafts consistently penciled Will Levis to the Indianapolis Colts. The former Kentucky quarterback’s NFL draft stock has seemingly been all over the place since then. To kick off the week of the big event, the buzz between the Colts and Levis is back.
Indianapolis has always felt like the ideal fit for Will Levis. Holding the No. 4 overall pick, general manager Chris Ballard is known for his affinity of big quarterbacks like Levis. After signing a merry-go-round of veterans with Frank Reich, they hit the reset button this offseason by hiring Eagles’ offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, who took Philly to the Super Bowl by utilizing the QB run game with Jalen Hurts. Levis can do just that in Indy.
Steichen and Ballard were not present for Levis’ pro day, but they did return to Lexington a few weeks later for a private workout. They must have liked what they saw. Todd McShay opened NFL Draft week by sharing what he’s hearing about the two side.

The Will Levis-Colts buzz is very real, folks. Indianapolis seems to be extremely intrigued by the Kentucky quarterback. In fact, if Levis is off the board, I’m not sure what the Colts do from there. The only information I’ve heard on them this week is they’re interested in Levis. Things could change, but that’s the latest buzz around the league, and Matt Miller was hearing similar stuff at the end of last week.
The next question is whether Indy would move up for him or stay put. Tennessee has been connected to him, too, so the Colts might opt to trade up to block their division mate and land their preferred passer.

The second paragraph is where things really get juicy. The biggest bomb McShay dropped was that another divisional rival, the Houston Texans, may not take a quarterback at all with the No. 2 spot. In fact, there’s a possibility they trade back to add draft capital and still land their preferred player at another position.
The Colts and Titans both like Levis. They both play the Texans twice a year. Houston has all of the leverage. Watching it play out in real time will be fascinating Thursday night in Kansas City.
