Will Levis poised to take major step forward in 2024 as the NFL's next Josh Allen
CBS Senior NFL Columnist Pete Prisco, who has covered the NFL for three decades, predicts that former Kentucky quarterback Will Levis will take a major step forward for the Tennessee Titans in 2024.
Prisco joined Pardon My Take on September 4, where he, Big Cat, and PFT Commenter previewed the 2024 NFL season. When asked for a player who he thought could take a major step forward this season, the former Jaguars beat writer tabbed Levis as a player to watch.
“Will Levis is going to take a major step forward,” Prisco said. “You know who Will Levis is a lot like? If you follow his career arc and all this stuff that people said about him coming out and the way they handled him and everything else, it’s Josh Allen.”
Levis spent two seasons at Kentucky (2021-2022), where he passed for 5,233 yards and 43 touchdowns. In games the Penn State transfer started, the Cats were 17-7 with wins over Florida (x2), Louisville (x2), LSU, and Iowa.
“He wasn’t very good as a senior and why was his completion percentage bad and this and that,” Prisco started. “Will Levis is entirely not the person he’s portrayed to be by the media when he came into the Draft. He loves, he lives it, he’s like Josh Allen. He’s a fanatic about it.”

After being projected as a First Rounder nearly all season long, Levis slipped to pick No. 33 in the 2023 NFL Draft. He made his pro debut on October 29 of last season, where he threw for four touchdowns in Tennessee’s 28-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He started nine games last season, passing for 1,808 yards and eight touchdowns (four interceptions).
“He’s going to have a monster season and everybody who mocked him and made fun of him going into the Draft is going to be exactly like they were about Josh Allen; wrong.”
Tennessee made some major offensive moves this offseason, bringing in former Pro Bowl running back Tony Pollard, former Second Team All-Pro wide receiver Calvin Ridley, and lifetime Bengal wide receiver Tyler Boyd to provide Levis some weapons in his second season.
The Titans open their 2024 season on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
