Nine Wildcats Earn All-SEC Honors from Pro Football Focus
The college football regular season has come to a close for all but 20 teams playing in conference championship games this Saturday. The conclusion of week 13 marks the commencement of postseason honors. Pro Football Focus is the first up, rolling out its 2021 All-SEC team Monday morning.
Kentucky could not finish 9-3 and second in the SEC East without a talented roster of players. PFF recognized nine Wildcats with postseason All-SEC honors. As expected, Darian Kinnard was a first team selection at right tackle, but many would have been surprised in the preseason to see a UK wide receiver on the first team.
- Darian Kinnard, Right Tackle, First Team
- Wan’Dale Robinson, Wide Receiver, First Team
- Luke Fortner, Center, Second Team
- Josh Paschal, Edge, Second Team
- Josh Ali, Second Team Punt Returner, Third Team Receiver
- Dare Rosenthal, Left Tackle, Third Team
- Chris Rodriguez, Running Back, Honorable Mention
- Kenneth Horsey, Offensive Guard, Honorable Mention
- Yusuf Corker, Safety, Honorable Mention
Ali’s second team addition as a punt returner is a nice reminder that he took one kick to the house against Mississippi State. I’m sure the biggest surprise for many is Rodriguez’s fall all the way to Honorable Mention, despite finishing second in the SEC with 1,272 rushing yards. The one negative for C-Rod is a big one. PFF grades drop dramatically from fumbles, giving C-Rod plenty of room to improve in the future.
This will be the first of many All-SEC honors for the Wildcats. Stay tuned for more.
