There was speculation Sunday morning, but now it’s official: Eric Musselman will join the SEC as head coach of Arkansas. The Razorbacks’ Athletic Director, Hunter Yurachek, welcomed Musselman to the university in a Tweet, along with his wife Danyelle, their daughter Mariah and sons, Matthew and Michael.

With the new job, Musselman leaves the University of Nevada, where he spent the last four years. During his time with the Wolfpack, Musselman’s teams earned three straight NCAA Tournament bids, including a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2018. The Nevada AD, Doug Knuth, released the following statement about Musselman’s departure:

“I want to thank Eric Musselman for four thrilling seasons with the Wolf Pack and for elevating the Nevada men’s basketball program to the top of the Mountain West Conference,” Knuth’s statement said. “We wish Eric and Danyelle nothing but the best moving forward.”

Musselman has also now addressed the hire.

According to a Twitter account with named Pig Trail Nation, Musselman has agreed to a five-year deal worth $2.5 million annually with the chance for bonuses based on success. Here’s a piece of the contract, tweeted by the Arkansas fan account.

Musselman is a strong hire for the Razorbacks and, if nothing else, he’ll bring some fire to Arkansas… Remember, he was the coach who accidentally dropped four F-bombs on live TV last season after Nevada beat Texas in overtime during the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
