Oh yeah, and Marquette...
Read this piece about how Marquette’s players are dealing with Tom Crean’s departure for Indiana.
Made me wonder–what’s the difference between Crean going to Indiana not-so-long after he signed an extension with Marquette and Bob Huggings going to West Virginia a year after signing a contract with Kansas State?

Crean left Marquette for Indiana’s prestige. Huggins left Kansas State–and the prospect of coaching possibly the greatest freshman of all-time, Michael Beasley–for West Virginia because there’s no place like home…even if it is West Virginia.
The difference? There’s actually a lot more nobility in Huggins’ move than in Crean’s.
I’ll let you know when the outcry about Crean being a snake and selfish and all of that starts to build. Don’t sit here and wait for it, though. As media members, I wonder at times if we actually stop and think about these things before we go full bore with an angle.
(Oh, and the media loves Tom Crean…can’t forget that part.)
