WATCH: Oklahoma fan throws beer can at Kentucky players after loss

What a wild finish in Norman. Otega Oweh willed Kentucky to a huge 83-82 win, hitting a game-winner with 6.1 seconds left. Predictably, fans at the Lloyd Noble Center did not take too kind to the former Sooner’s heroics, booing him and the rest of the Kentucky players when the buzzer sounded. The atmosphere was so charged that referees waived off the postgame handshake line.
While Oweh headed across the court to do his SEC Network postgame interview (after exchanging words with a few of his former teammates), the Cats were given quite the welcome at the visitor’s tunnel. One fan threw a beer can at them as they walked through, narrowly missing Brandon Garrison’s head.
Garrison, an Oklahoma City native who played his freshman season at Oklahoma State, was already on one, almost getting into a scuffle with Oklahoma players when the buzzer sounded after he blocked Jeremiah Fears’ shot as time expired. Amari Williams had to pull Garrison away from Fears and toward Kentucky’s side of the court.

Garrison finished with 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3PT), 4 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 3 steals in 27 minutes. Oweh, of course, was the hero, scoring 28 points, 23 in the second half. He was responsible for 21 of Kentucky’s final 23 points and the final 16 in the last 8:38. What a night for the Oklahoma boys. Even Jaxson Robinson, who sat the second half after his wrist injury flared back up, had seven first-half points.
Shew, what a night. We’ll be up talking about this one for a while. Stay classy, Sooners.
