After a month of college football games, teams are banged up. Kentucky and Ole Miss have not evaded that injury bug. We could learn more from Mark Stoops about Kentucky’s injury situation this afternoon. Until then, we have a good idea about who will be available for Ole Miss Saturday afternoon at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Zach Evans was one of the most sought after running backs in the transfer portal after he averaged better than 7 yards per carry over two seasons at TCU. He had 48 yards and a touchdown before he was sent to the sideline against Tulsa. Our friends from On3’s Ole Miss Spirit report Evans is expected to play against UK after suffering a hip pointer.

For the second straight week Ole Miss will be without another transfer running back, former SMU star Ulysses Bentley IV. Elsewhere on the offense, slot receiver Jaylon Robinson is expected to be back in action for the Rebels against Kentucky. He has three receptions for 25 yards in two games this fall. Starting center Caleb Warren‘s status is uncertain ahead of Saturday’s Top 25 showdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, Ole Miss may be without its top playmaker. According to On3’s Chuck Rounsaville, Khari Coleman is not responding to treatment on his ankle as well as was initially hoped. He is considered questionable. Coleman is not a high volume tackler, but he creates havoc behind the line of scrimmage. He leads Ole Miss in sacks (2.5) and tackles for loss (6.5). While the Rebels may lose their playmaker on the edge, they should have starting defensive tackle J.J. Pegues back against Kentucky.

In short, Ole Miss will have arguably its best offensive player back in action, but could be without one of its best defensive players. We’ll know more the closer we get to kickoff between the Cats and the Rebels this Saturday at noon on ESPN.
