Ole Miss has "The Sip" themed end zones for Saturday's game vs. Kentucky

Hotty Toddy, Landshark, The Grove, and now, The Sip. Ole Miss has its own lexicon, and one of the newer, quirkier slogans will be on display during tomorrow’s game vs. Kentucky.
“The Sip” is a nickname for the state of Mississippi that Lane Kiffin has embraced since taking the job in Oxford in 2020. “Come to the Sip” and “Party in the Sip” are used regularly in recruiting to lure top prospects and transfers to Ole Miss. There’s even “Drip in the Sip,” a hashtag Kiffin and the staff use on social media for players, coaches, and even fans to show off their gameday threads.
Ole Miss took “The Sip” one step further this week, painting the nickname on the end zones at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The contrasting end zones align with the powder blue and red Stripe Out planned for the crowd. This is Homecoming weekend for the Rebels, who will also have a ton of recruits on campus for official visits.

The first time Ole Miss “striped the Vaught” was vs. Kentucky in 2022. Big Blue Nation memorably ruined the effect a little bit with Kentucky Blue. Unfortunately, the Cats weren’t able to spoil the outcome of the game due to turnovers and an illegal motion penalty. I’m still bitter over that one.

The Cats are 15.5-point underdogs to the Rebels tomorrow. History isn’t on Kentucky’s side in these scenarios, but if the Cats can pull off the upset, I trust that fans who make the trip will Party in the Sip until the wee hours.
