One of the biggest NFL trades in history could give Darian Kinnard a fourth straight Super Bowl

It was tossed around as a joke when Darian Kinnard was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday: the Lombardi Trophy was coming home to Lambeau Field. The former Kentucky star is a perfect three for three on Super Bowls, winning two with the Kansas City Chiefs to open his NFL career, followed by one with the Eagles this past season.
Wherever Kinnard plays, winning follows — even if he’s played in just three career games. Now, though, the pressure is actually on the Packers to win Super Bowl LX after making arguably the biggest trade in league history.
In a blockbuster deal with the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay sent two first-round picks and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark away for three-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher Micah Parsons. As part of the trade, the Packers are giving the generational defensive talent a four-year, $188 million contract that includes $120 million fully guaranteed to become the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history.
Parsons, just 26 years old, has racked up 256 tackles, 52.5 sacks, nine pass deflections and nine forced fumbles in four seasons after being selected No. 12 overall by the Cowboys in the 2021 NFL Draft. Now, he’s going to an NFC rival in Green Bay, who immediately enters the win-now championship conversation.

That brings us back to Kinnard, just days removed from becoming a Packer, bringing his three Super Bowl rings with him to the NFC North. Can the former Wildcat four-peat? He can do it by the time he, like Parsons, turns 26 years old.
Green Bay previously traded for Kinnard in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round draft pick. As the primary backup to Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson in Philadelphia, he played 71 offensive snaps this past season — three at left guard and 68 at right tackle — while allowing just three pressures and one sack. He played in one game for the Chiefs in 2022, then two for the Eagles in 2024. Making the 53-man roster for the Packers this week, he will be a restricted free agent next summer and will make $1.03 million in 2025.
Kinnard is one of three Wildcats teaming up with Parsons in Green Bay, joined by Carrington Valentine on the active roster and Jamon Dumas-Johnson on the practice squad — the latter able to learn from the superstar pass-rusher on defense.
What was the bigger win-now move for Green Bay, Kinnard or Parsons? BBN is going with the former.
