WATCH: One-on-One with Randall Cobb at SEC Media Days
When I smashed the snooze button on Thursday morning in Dallas, I did not expect to speak with Randall Cobb about that time he caught a 24-yard touchdown pass with just over a minute to go to cap off an 18-point come-from-behind victory at Commonwealth Stadium, Kentucky’s first-ever win over Steve Spurrier. That’s SEC Media Days, baby.
Cobb used to catch passes in Dallas for the Cowboys. Now he’s back in the Lone Star State on the other side of the microphone as a member of the media. It’s one hell of an introduction for the former Wildcat.
From afar, Radio Row at SEC Media Days looks like a bunch of old smelly talking heads firing off takes. It’s actually quite a daunting undertaking for newsmakers from ESPN like Cobb. He was being ushered from one table to the next, firing off consecutive interviews with outlets from across the SEC.

Instead of catching his breath before hopping on the SEC Network set, Cobb was kind enough to spend time with Kentucky Sports Radio. We were the new kids on the block when he was making plays in Lexington. Now he’s thanking us for being some of his first ardent supporters. What a time to be alive.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy a candid conversation with the former Kentucky great who’s excited to see what Mark Stoops can accomplish in year 12.
