Fresh off back-to-back losses at Rupp Arena, Kentucky is trying to get right on the road. That is typically a recipe for disaster, but this Vanderbilt team might be just what the Wildcats need.

Kentucky opened as a 9.5 favorite over Vanderbilt, according to our friends at FanDuel. The total has been set at 151.5. KenPom is projecting an 82-72 victory and ESPN’s BPI gives the Wildcats an 87.2% chance to win.

In Jerry Stahouse’s fifth season in Nashville, the former North Carolina Tar Heel’s team is trending in the wrong direction. Vanderbilt is 6-15 with just one win in SEC play. That win came on Saturday, a 68-61 victory over the last team without an SEC win, Missouri.

Vanderbilt is 9-11-1 Against the Spread (ATS), including two covers in their last three games. Under bettors have cashed tickets in six straight Vanderbilt games.

Kentucky once covered in six straight contests. They’re now 2-5 ATS over the last seven games. The over is still the system play for the Cats, hitting in all but five Kentucky basketball games this season.

John Calipari is 8-2 straight up against Jerry Stackhouse. Those Vanderbilt wins over the Wildcats each happened last year. Kentucky lost by two on Senior Night, then suffered a shocking first-round exit in the SEC Tournament.
