Opponents Beware: Kentucky Football is Playing Angry
The Kentucky football team still has a chance at a historic 10-win season. Despite a terrible, no good, awful trip to Starkville, the momentum is still there for the Cats; however, that momentum rides on the results of the final four games, specifically Saturday’s vs. the Tennessee Volunteers at a sold-out Kroger Field.
Once again, Kentucky’s been in this exact spot before: two losses and heading into the Tennessee game, fresh off an embarrassing bye-week loss to Mississippi State. In 2017, a heroic effort by Stephen Johnson put the ‘Cats over the Vols 29-26 to clinch bowl eligibility.
This time around, the Vols may suffer the same fate because the folks in the Kentucky Football facility are focused, hungry, and quite frankly, pissed off.
Isaiah Epps and Josh Ali joined Pin It Deep this week to assure the BBN it’s all business the rest of the way.
“Last night (the Mississippi State game) was the worst part of the season,” Epps said. “We hate for one (loss) to turn into two, but it happened. But I think the mature team we have, that’s the worst it gets. It’s cut off. I feel sorry for these next four teams, to be honest.“

“Like I said, these next four teams are gonna have to strap it on,” Epps continued. “No one in the building is very happy. No one likes to lose, but especially like that…for the rest of the season, I think we can expect an undefeated last four games.”
I followed up by asking Josh Ali how much trouble Tennessee is in this year, bringing back memories of 2017 when Kentucky was faced with the same situation.
“Even more.“
“I know Kentucky and Louisville is a rivalry, but this (Tennessee) game feels more like a rivalry,” Ali finished.
Unfortunately, the ‘Cats and Vols can’t tee it up just yet. That will be at 7:00 p.m. from a sold-out Kroger Field on Saturday night. In the meantime, check out the entire fantastic interview with Josh Ali and Isaiah Epps on Pin It Deep.
