Danville (Ky.) Boyle County alum Neal Brown has committed to recruiting Kentucky since taking the head coaching job at West Virginia. The Mountaineers haven’t had a ton of success but recorded a win on the trail in the Bluegrass State on Thursday.

Three-star EDGE Oryend Fisher ended his recruitment with a commitment to West Virginia.

The Georgetown (Ky.) Great Crossing senior is listed under 200 pounds but has terrific length on a 6-foot-6 frame and put out some monster athletic testing data over the summer. Fisher took an official visit to West Virginia in June as the Mountaineers emerged as the clear favorite throughout this recruitment.

Kentucky hosted the in-state prospect for an unofficial visit in April but appeared to never seriously pursue Oryend Fisher. For the second year in a row, a Power Five prospect at Great Crossing will sign with another program after Kalib Perry committed to Tennessee.

Kentucky currently has 15 verbal commitments in the class of 2023 with five in-state prospects in the fold. West Virginia now joins Purdue, Tennessee, and Wake Forest as other Power Five programs that have logged recruiting wins for Kentucky prospects during the current cycle.
