Oscar Tshiebwe wore a headband in Kentucky’s 71-66 win over LSU. Sadly, despite another dominant performance — 17 points and 16 rebounds, his 10th-straight double-double — it might be the only time we see Headband Oscar. After the game, Oscar told reporters that LSU players made fun of the headband because it was too small for his head, so unless he can find a bigger one, he will retire the look.

“The headband, I wanted to see Headband Oscar. It was actually funny, when I wear the headband, all the assistant coaches, they told me, ‘If Coach sees you start missing layups, he’ll be like, you better take off that headband!’ I said, ‘Coach, I’m not going to miss no layup. I’m going to work.’ It was good. LSU, they were making fun of my headband. They said, ‘That headband is so little for you. You need a big headband.’ I told [Equipment Manager Mark Evans], I said, ‘You better find me a big headband because I cannot wear this anymore.’ So, I think if they can’t find a big one, I’m not just not going to wear no more headbands.”

While equipment manager Mark Evans hunts down an appropriate-sized accessory, we’re here to help the only way we know how: the most ridiculous manner possible. This morning, I started making Oscar’s headband bigger in exchange for Twitter shares as countless professional sports teams have done recently.

Well, you guys responded. Over 700 RTs later, Oscar’s headband has a life of its own.

It eventually outgrew Oscar.

And wrapped itself around last night’s hero, Bryce Hopkins:

The big man himself liked that one:

A brother’s keeper, the headband checked on TyTy and Sahvir:

…and watched Oscar dominate from above:

Eventually, it grew so big it had to go outside.

Where will Oscar’s headband go from here?
