Oscar Tshiebwe‘s return to Lexington wasn’t limited to a youth camp featuring over 300 diehard fans and the entire Kentucky men’s basketball team. The former Wildcat also went out of his way to help the next generation of talent in the area.

Tshiebwe hosted a private workout featuring a number of five- and four-star recruits, all located within the region. The headliner was Kansas’ prized pledge Flory Bidunga, the nation’s No. 5 overall prospect and No. 1 center in the On3 Industry Ranking. He was joined by Kentucky’s best talent: Jasper Johnson, Travis Perry, Malachi Moreno, Ayden Evans and Gabe Weis, among others.

The Invite was an exclusive training session powered by Court XIV, Tshiebwe’s agency led by CEO & Founder Nate Conley. Taking place at the Sports Center in Lexington, it was an opportunity to train, learn and play alongside a former national player of the year and current NBA rookie.

The battles were about what you’d expect. Tshiebwe proved why he was one of the most productive college basketball players in recent memory while Bidunga, Johnson, Perry, Moreno and other attendees had their own moments. The future Jayhawk was a force on the defensive end and threw down vicious dunks in one-on-one and two-on-two drills, but also struggled at times against Tshiebwe’s physicality. Same can be said about Moreno, known for his touch and feel as a true 7-footer — more finesse than brute strength.

As for the backcourt, all eyes were on Johnson and Perry — two truly elite scoring talents out of Lexington and Eddyville, respectively. Both players shot lights out and thrived in situational drills, Johnson having arguably the play of the afternoon with an ankle-breaking crossover in full-court one-on-ones.

And keep a close eye on 2026 wing Gabe Weis out of Washington County. The 6-foot-7 prospect is long and athletic with a smooth mid-range game. Not turning 16 till March, he’ll be in the conversation for top-ranked player out of Kentucky in that class when it’s all over.

The exclusive event was must-see viewing and a treat put on by Tshiebwe and Court XIV. Missed the workout? KSR was in attendance to capture all the footage you need, including highlights from all of the individual standouts.

Now the real question: how many of those local standouts will end up wearing Kentucky blue at the next level? Odds are good at least one will be following in Tshiebwe’s footsteps to Lexington.

Events like this certainly don’t hurt.
