Oscar Tshiebwe‘s future remains in limbo, but not for much longer. The unanimous National Player of the Year said Sunday night that he’s about a “week or two” away from announcing his next move.

“God is going to answer me soon,” Tshiebwe told LEX-18. “Because he has great plans for me and everybody’s going to know what is my next move soon.”

Just a few days after winning the Wooden Award to become Kentucky’s first unanimous National Player of the Year, Tshiebwe spoke to a large crowd in Harrodsburg. The gym was packed for the revival where Oscar shared the story of his faith journey to the bluegrass.

Tshiebwe is currently a projected second round pick. In the latest ESPN mock draft, Jonathan Givony has the big man falling all the way down to No. 42 overall to the Charlotte Hornets. Tshiebwe could find another way to raise the funds needed to move his mother from the Congo to America. There are hurdles to overcome for the international student-athlete to earn money with his Name, Image and Likeness, but the BBN received what is likely a positive sign on Friday. Tshiebwe released a new line of merchandise with the profits going directly into his pocket.

Oscar dropped the new merch while in Los Angeles to accept the Wooden Award. Last week he also traveled to New Orleans to receive the Naismith Award. This season he averaged 17.4 points and a nation-leading 15.1 rebounds per game to become the first Division I player to average 15 and 15 since 1980. The third Wildcat to ever record more than 500 rebounds in a single season, he set a new school record with 28 double-doubles. You name the award, Tshiebwe won it.
