Tour Overtime Elite, a potential new pipeline for Kentucky Basketball
On our way to cover Kentucky’s loss to Georgia, Jack Pilgrim and I made a stop in Atlanta last Friday night. Future Wildcat Rob Dillingham‘s Cold Hearts team had their last regular season game at Overtime Elite.
Upon entering the main arena for the first time, my jaw dropped. It is a professional atmosphere with jumbotrons, lights, and announcers. The games are all broadcasted live on Amazon Prime. The quality of these broadcasts is legitimately better than what you would find on ESPN+ outside of power conference teams.
The rules in the Overtime Elite league deviate some from the traditional game. For instance, the Big Bonus is a fun alternative to shooting the 1-and-1 up until the final two minutes of the game.
After the game we were given a full tour of OTE which you can see for yourself in the video below. The facilities are quite impressive. So much so, I couldn’t help but wonder if Dillingham was underwhelmed by what Kentucky has.
