The top two high school players from the state of Kentucky are being recognized on the national level.

Earlier this month, Ballislife unveiled the 30th annual All-American Elite Team, which is currently produced by Grassroots Editor Ronnie Flores and is meant to honor the country’s top high school basketball prospects. This year’s group consists of 40 seniors and 10 juniors, which were split into a 20-man First Team and a 30-man Second Team.

A pair of incoming, homegrown Kentucky freshmen cracked the list.

Lyon County four-star point guard Travis Perry was tabbed a member of the “Third Five” on the First Team while Harlan County three-star shooting guard Trent Noah was named to the Second Team. By making the “Third Five”, Perry is believed by Flores to have produced a Top 15 run in all of high school basketball during the 2023-24 season.

This past season, Perry, the 2024 Mr. Kentucky Basketball winner, averaged 28.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game for the Lyons on shooting splits of 49.8/41.7/84.5. Meanwhile, Noah averaged 29.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game for the Black Bears on splits of 56/43/88.9.

The All-American Elite Teams also take into account how a player performed in the postseason. Perry and Noah led their respective teams to the state championship game at Rupp Arena back in March. Perry and Lyon County ultimately came out on top, 67-58, besting Noah and Harlan County. Both future ‘Cats finished their high school careers among the top five all-time scorers in the state of Kentucky.

When Perry and Noah arrive in Lexington this summer in preparation for their freshman campaigns in 2024-25, they’ll bring over 9,000 career high school points with them. Perry finished with 5,481 points (1st) while Noah added 3,707 points (5th).

Perry and Noah aren’t the only notable names on the All-American Teams either. A handful of Kentucky’s top targets from the 2025 recruiting class made the Second Team. The likes of 5-star CG Brayden Burries, 5-star SG Trey McKenney, and 4-star SF Tounde Yessoufou were also listed.
