Paris Rolls Over Bishop Brossart in Kroger KSR Game of the Week
KSR’s first trip to Paris did not disappoint as the Greyhounds put on an absolute show, rolling over Bishop Brossart 41-3 in the Kroger KSR Game of the Week.
When you step foot into Blanton Collier Stadium, you are transported back in time. The grass field and the overwhelming support from the Paris community made this atmosphere one of the best of the season. Where they cherish their past, they also look towards the future, especially when it comes to their “Player’s Lounge”. They do things a little different in Paris, including having a barber’s station inside the lounge.
Along with their lounge, Paris has also constructed a state-of-the-art indoor facility, complete with eight weight lifting stations.
The phrase that many throw around is “look good, play good.” Well, Paris certainly passed the eye test, now they had to prove it on the field. Prove it on the field they did.
After forcing a quick three-and-out to start the game, Paris junior running back Elijah Webb took the handoff from freshman QB Julius Gregory 70-yards untouched for a touchdown. The Greyhounds kicked off to Bishop Brossart, pinning them inside the 15-yard line to begin their drive. On the first play of the drive, freshman DB Fred Carson intercepted Brossart QB Keegan Gulley and returned it 15 yards for yet another Greyhound touchdown. Suddenly, it was 13-0 Paris. However, the onslaught didn’t stop there.
Following their extra point to make it a 13-point game, Paris caught the Mustangs off guard with an onside kick, which they recovered. The Greyhound fans went crazy, and got even more excited when Webb took another handoff from Gregory 65 yards to the house for yet another touchdown, his second of the game. Just four minutes into this one, Paris took a commanding 20-0 lead.
After allowing 20 points in the first four minutes, the Bishop Brossart defense held the Greyhounds scoreless for the remainder of the first quarter and most of the second quarter. Freshman QB JuJu Gregory led a long Greyhound drive near the end of the first half, which he capped off with a 19-yard passing touchdown to Fred Carson, Carson’s second score of the game. For being just a freshman, Gregory led like a four-year senior. JuJu spoke with KSR following the win.

“I’m really proud of my guys,” Gregory said. “We work hard every day. It’s all a mental thing with us. When we’re locked in as a team, I feel like nobody can stop us.”
Carson and junior Cameron Mays returned back-to-back punts for scores in the third quarter, putting the Greyhounds up 41-3 with three minutes remaining in the third quarter. The running clock began, and this one was shortly over. With the win, Paris advanced to 6-0 for the first time since 2015. Greyhound head coach Tyquan Rice was extremely pleased with his team following their big victory.
“Honestly, I forgot we were 6-0,” a humble Rice said. “We just try to take it week by week. Right now, we’re 1-0. With everything you do in life, it’s good to be supported. From year one to year three, we’ve earned that support.”
Paris were wonderful hosts and KSR will definitely be heading back to Bourbon County in the near future. With the win, Paris improves to 6-0 and will look to continue their momentum next week against Nicholas County. Bishop Brossart falls to 2-4.
