PGA Tour Moves ISCO Championship to Louisville
The PGA Tour isn’t leaving the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It’s just moving this ISCO Championship a few miles down the road.
PGA Tour officials announced on Tuesday that Hurstbourne Country Club will host the ISCO Championship in 2025. A poorly kept secret, whispers of the tournament’s move began circulating when Valhalla hosted the PGA Championship back in May.
“The ISCO Championship shines a global spotlight on Kentucky’s unique golf landscape, highlighted by world-class courses, significant junior and collegiate programs and a deep-rooted love for the game,” said Tyler Dennis, PGA TOUR Chief Competitions Officer. “By bringing the tournament to Hurstbourne Country Club, we are showcasing yet another premier Kentucky golf venue on the world stage.”
Previously known as the Barbasol Championship, over the last six years the event was played just outside of Lexington at Keene Trace. The tournament has a $4 million purse and the winner is awarded 300 FedEx Cup points, however, it fails to regularly draw star-studded fields because it’s an alternate event. Most of the best golfers in the world are overseasons, preparing for a links-style major championship at the Scottish Open.

Even though PGA Tour stars rarely visited Central Kentucky, the event was well-received by golf fans, but the weather rarely cooperated. Despite the unusual circumstances, almost every single tournament produced fireworks.
Of the six PGA Tour tournaments at Keene Trace, none was decided by more than one stroke and three of the tournaments went to a playoff. This year Harry Hall broke a 5-way tie on the third playoff hole by chipping in for birdie on hole No. 17. Hopefully the ISCO Championship will continue to produce exciting finishes at Hurstbourne Country Club.
