PHOTO GALLERY: Travis Perry Scores Big at the Home of King Kelly Coleman
The most prolific scorer in Kentucky high school basketball history played at the historic venue that brought his predecessor fame. Kelly Coleman became the “King” at Wayland Gym. Saturday night Travis Perry was the star of the show at the Floyd County facility.
The Lyon County Lyons made the long trip from Western Kentucky to Northeastern Kentucky to take on Floyd Central. The final score, a 110-72 victory behind 30 points from Perry, was merely a footnote. This is Kentucky basketball history.
As Jacob Polacheck described it, step into the time capsule that once hosted the Wayland Wasps to see Travis Perry perform in the venue where Kentucky basketball royalty made history almost 75 years ago.
