Rob Dillingham And Antonio Reeves On Kentucky's Ncaa Tournament Draw

College basketball does many things well. It’s far from perfect, but there’s one change the sport could make that would draw in a bigger audience. Gambling lines are only released about 24 hours before tip-off, giving fans and pundits less time to preview highly-anticipated matchups. That all changes in the NCAA Tournament. Not only do we not have to wait for lines, but it’s more than 24 hours away from tip-off between Kentucky and Oakland, and player props are LIVE.

With the addition of sports gambling, you can stay in the game even after your bracket is busted. It’s not for everyone, but if you want to scratch that itch, FanDuel Sportsbook has you covered. Oakland is almost as good Against the Spread (ATS) as they are straight up. This year Oakland bettors are in the money. The Golden Grizzlies are 20-13-1 ATS. However, they have not been as good at beating Vegas as of late, failing to cover in three of their last five games.

Kentucky is a 13.5-point favorite with a total of 162.5. The Cats are 18-14 ATS and have only covered the spread once in their last four games. Over bettors are playing big numbers and cashing tickets in five of the last six Kentucky basketball games.

Other Intriguing Kentucky vs. Oakland Props

That’s just a small sample of the player props offered at FanDuel. A few others jumped out to me.

Antonio Reeves 3+ Threes (+118)

Kentucky’s sharpshooter has only made 3+ three-pointers one time in the last six games. He’ll be hungry after he was limited to only 18 minutes in the Cats’ SEC Tournament loss. Last year’s shooting performance against Kansas State is also probably in the back of his mind. Facing a zone defense, Reeves will have plenty of opportunities to light it up from long range.

Reed Sheppard Points + Rebounds + Assists OVER 21.5 (-128)

Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham have a knack for going back and forth. They rarely both fire on all cylinders in the same game. Rob performed well against Texas A&M, while Reed had a quiet 12-point performance. Factoring in his assists and rebounds, he still had a player combo of 21 in the SEC Tournament. His average this season with these combined stats is 21.6.

Kentucky may have some first-game jitters. Reed Sheppard has been a Steady Eddie. The point guard is in control against zone defenses, rarely hanging around the perimeter. Expect to see him drive into the paint to create opportunities for others or knock down midrange jumpers.
