Kentucky will close out the 2023-24 regular season at Rupp Arena on Wednesday night. Vanderbilt played spoiler on Senior Night last season, can they do it again?

Las Vegas has handicapped the matchup and the oddsmakers believe Kentucky will take care of business. The Wildcats are a 19.5-point favorite over Vanderbilt, according to FanDuel. The total has been set at 159.5.

The computer-based power rankings are also confident in the Cats. KenPom calls for a 90-69 Kentucky when, while ESPN’s BPI only gives Vanderbilt a 2.8% chance to pull off the upset at Rupp Arena.

Vanderbilt has just three wins in SEC play to its name, the second-fewest in the conference. Jerry Stackhouse logged a 3-point win at Arkansas last week. They also have a 1-point win over A&M and a 7-point victory over Missouri on their resume.

Even though they’ve been bad on the final scoreboard, Vanderbilt is almost .500 Against the Spread (ATS). They’re 12-16-1 ATS this season, including a 4-6 record away from Memorial Gymnasium. The total has gone over only once in the Commodores’ last five games.

Kentucky failed to cover the spread in Saturday’s win over Arkansas, but the Wildcats are still 17-12 ATS this season. Even though they are a prolific scoring team, Coach Cal isn’t great at covering big numbers. Kentucky is 6-6 ATS as a double-digit favorite this year. One other stat to consider: totals have gone over in 16 of Kentucky’s last 19 games at home.
