The Cats got a little mid-week reprieve from the rigors of Southeastern Conference play. Kentucky is back in action this Saturday at Vanderbilt and Vegas has shared its assessment of the matchup.

Even though the game will be played at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Kentucky is a 3.5-point favorite over Vanderbilt. The total is 162.

The Wildcats have a 59% chance to win, according to KenPom, who projects a final score of 85-83. Bart Torvik only gives Kentucky a 1.2-point advantage over Vanderbilt.

The Commodores have exceeded early expectations in Mark Byington’s first season in Nashville. Vanderbilt is 15-4, 12-7 Against the Spread (ATS). Their most impressive win of the season was a 76-75 victory over Tennessee last Saturday. Kentucky is 3-3 ATS away from Rupp Arena this season and they’ve won outright as an underdog three times.

The Commodores are led by Jason Edwards, who ranks eighth in the SEC in scoring. The North Texas transfer averages 17.3 points per game on 45.2% shooting from the floor. Tanner Tyler ranks third in the league in steals with 2.2 per contest.

Kentucky leads the overall series 157-49. The Wildcats won 14 straight before Jerry Stackhouse rattled off two wins at the end of the 2023 season. Neither of those games were at Memorial Gymnasium. Vandy’s last win over the Wildcats in the strange venue was back in 2011.
