Politics For a New Generation: Rudy vs Kumar

For reasons that are absolutely beyond my comprehension, Kentucky Sports Radio has become a place to go in this year's Presidential Race. Because Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are still fighting it out and Kentucky is one of the last states to have a primary in this beautiful country of ours, the Bluegrass state is about to be hit in late April/early May with a barrage of Democratic appearances and advertisements. In preparation for this barrage, I have been contacted by both campaigns (and no I am not kidding) about having the candidates on my show in early May to discuss sports and reach out to the young voters of the states. So there is a decent chance that in early May, squeezed in between interviews wiht Gregg Doyel, Tomlin, Ater Majok, Bomani Jones and Josh Harrellson, could be interviews with Barack Obama and former President Clinton. You have to love this country. However for now, both candidates are focused on Pennsylvania and thus the various campaigns are looking to send representatives with "star power to get us ready for the big event. Both campaigns asked if I would like a "celebrity" who is endorsing their candidate....I said of course. And thus next week, on the Matt Jones Show on 93.9 "The Ticket", we are scheduled to have (I am not kidding) representing Hillary Clinton: Sean Astin and representing Barack Obama: Kal Penn....better known to you folks as Rudy from "Rudy" and Kumar from "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle." I am currently working with both campaigns to try and make these two debate over the campaign....which if it occurs, could be the greatest day of my young life. Either way, they are at least scheduled to come on separately and pitch for their candidates. I truly cannot wait. Stay tuned here for the announcement of the time. Only in America folks.....
