Is there a possibility of seeing Coach Amoore on the Kentucky sideline one day? 'Yeah, for sure.'
It has been very well-documented that Kenny Brooks and Georgia Amoore are very tightly knit. Brooks has often called her his “mini-me” and his “quarterback” referring to the fact that she is an extension of his coaching on the floor.
Following the 30-point win over Purdue, Brooks credited Amoore and Dazia Lawrence for recognizing the box-and-one defense that the Boilermakers ran, allowing him to adjust the offensive gameplan a bit after the team trailed 12-8 following the first quarter.
After Brooks made that comment in his postgame press conference, Amoore was asked if she would maybe want to be a coach one day, and her answer was as direct and straight to the point as it could have been.
“I definitely want to coach. Yeah, for sure,” Amoore answered. “I didn’t want to maybe my sophomore year, and then the more I grow and the more I love the game for what it is and not how I play, I’m like ‘Yeah, I want to coach’.”

And that didn’t happen by any accident.
“I’m coaching her like that. What we do together — I’ll tell her why we’re doing it,” Brooks added. “You know, we’ll come in, we’ll watch film, and she’ll sit and just watch us as coaches talk about stuff. It’s a luxury having her on the floor because she can really — I can remember when my coach used to always try to tell us what to do from the sidelines, and I used to always think to myself I’m like ‘You’re not out here. You don’t understand’.”
He added, “It’s easier to say ‘Get over that screen!’ than it is to get over that screen, and I’ve always been able to rely on them and their expertise and what they see on the floor because it’s a different angle than what I’m watching at, and that’s been a luxury.”
