Kentucky landed Georgia quarterback transfer Brock Vandagriff to address a big hole on the 2024 roster. The Wildcats have their starting quarterback and potential quarterback of the future when four-star true freshman Cutter Boley arrives on campus. Mark Stoops‘ program has a plan for now and for the future.

Unfortunately, not all is good in the QB room.

The Wildcats have almost no depth at the position after Kaiya Sheron and Destin Wade each entered the transfer portal in the last week. Former Iowa transfer Deuce Hogan also announced his intentions to head into the portal before deleting his post on X. Kentucky likely still needs to address QB in some way before this offseason concludes.

Georgia Southern quarterback Beau Allen appears to be a potential option after the former Lexington (Ky.) Catholic product entered the transfer portal. KSR’s Ryan Lemond went on record regarding the potential homecoming on Sunday.

Could a commitment be arriving soon? Only time will tell.

Beau Allen is a former top-500 recruit who signed with Kentucky in the class of 2020. After two seasons in Lexington, Allen entered the transfer portal and landed at FCS Tarleton State where he threw for 2,836 yards and 23 touchdowns. Following the 2022 season, Allen entered the transfer portal again and landed at Georgia Southern. Unfortunately, Allen was unable to receiver a waiver since he used up his one-time free transfer and was forced to sit out the entire year. The in-state prospect will be a redshirt senior in 2024 with two years of eligibility remaining.

Kentucky has a clear depth need at quarterback. A familiar face with multiple years of eligibility could be returning to Lexington to fill the QB2 role over at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility.
