Praise keeps piling up for Bud Dupree

by:Matt Wheatley06/15/14
dupree The off-season has been kind to Bud Dupree. From being pegged as an All-SEC player down to being ranked as the number two defensive end in the country according to NFLDraftScout.com, the hype surrounding one of Kentucky's favorite players has continued to grow. This time, Dupree's praises are coming from one of the most well-known NFL talent evaluators around--Mel Kiper. Kiper has ranked Dupree as the fourth best senior defensive end in the country. Another year under the tutelage of Brumbaugh and Stoops could catapult Dupree--and fellow defensive end Za'Darius Smith--into the first round of the NFL draft. Aside from being happy for Bud Dupree, a guy who has represented the University of Kentucky well in his three years here, hype like this is also important for the football program as a whole.  When Kentucky football players make noise on a national level and in the NFL (Cobb, Trevathan, Warford, etc.), it makes it clear to other guys that Kentucky is a place that will develop you for the NFL. Being able to point to these successes will only strengthen Stoops already strong recruiting profile.
