We will not have a Triple Crown winner, but the show goes on this Saturday at Pimlico Park with the 147th running of the Preakness Stakes. Kentucky Derby long shot winner Rich Strike is bypassing the trip to Baltimore, but there are still some top notch horses in the nine-horse field.
The Preakness is headlined by Derby favorite and runner-up, Epicenter. Steve Asmussen’s horse drew post position No. 8 and is the 6-5 morning line favorite. Chad Brown’s front-runner Early Voting is 7-2 after skipping the Derby to prepare for the shorter race. The third choice is Kentucky Oaks champion Secret Oath. D. Wayne Lukas’ 9-2 horse will try to become just the seventh filly to wear the Black-Eyed Susans.
