Prince Jean has committed to Kentucky, he tells KSR+. The 2026 three-star wide receiver took an official visit to UK last week, closing it out with a commitment.

The 6-foot, 170-pound wide receiver from Valdosta (Valdosta, GA) sat down with KSR+ for an interview following his decision. Jean chose Kentucky over Mississippi State, Kansas State, Virginia, and Georgia. He said Kentucky wide receiver coach L’Damian Washington played a big role in his decision.

“The similarities between mine and Coach LD [L’Damian Washington’s] stories hit me different, but with the wisdom and knowledge that he got from his experience, I believe I’ll be in good hands for the next 4 to 40 years,” Jean said.

Jean is the third player to join the 2026 Kentucky football recruiting class, following Texas wide receiver Davis McCray and instate offensive tackle Jarvis Strickland.

Jean’s commitment comes just hours after ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Kentucky associate head coach Vince Marrow is finalizing a three-year deal to join Louisville football as the program’s general manager.

Takeaways from His Visit

Prince Jean took his second official visit to Kentucky from June 3-5. It was enough to land his commitment.

“The city is beautiful,” Jean said. “It’s not too big, not too small. The support system they have and the bond the players have, and the knowledge I believe I will receive under LD’s teachings.”

Kentucky didn’t just tell Jean how they’d use him. They showed him.

“They were able to show I had similarities to Kendrick Law,” Jean said. “They say I will be used the same way on the outside, the inside, and even in the backfield.”

Jean was able to spend time with the staff, as well as other players. He got to know players in the wide receiver room as well as the DB room.

“I believe in the staff and that they will get back on track,” Jean said. “I want to be a part of that.”

Prince Jean’s Game

Three-star wide receiver Prince Jean of Valdosta (GA) is the nation’s No. 823 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Jean as the No. 114 wide receiver and the No. 84 overall player in Georgia.

“I’m a young man who comes from nothing,” Jean said. “[I’m] hungry and just wants an opportunity to make a difference.”

Jean said he’s a “physical, explosive route runner.” He also said he’s great with the ball in his hands after the catch or on the run.

In addition to wide receiver, Jean also plays cornerback in high school. While wide receiver will most likely be his position at Kentucky, you’ll often see him take snaps and run the ball as a quarterback in the high school ranks.

“Kentucky fans, y’all are gonna get a dog: a physical, explosive playermaker who’s gone bring excitement to Kentucky,” Jean said.
