Quandre Mosely waived by New England Patriots
The 53-man roster cut deadline continues to be brutal for fringe Wildcats in the NFL. On the same day Justin Rigg was waived by the Tennessee Titans, former Kentucky defensive back Quandre Mosely was also released by the New England Patriots.
Mosely was one of 11 players cut by the Patriots on Sunday, the former Wildcat joining defensive lineman Carl Davis Jr., linebacker Diego Fagot, defensive back Brad Hawkins Jr., tight end Johnny Lumpkin, running back C.J. Marable, defensive back Rodney Randle Jr., defensive lineman Justus Tavai, offensive lineman Micah Vanterpool, tight end Scotty Washington and linebacker Carson Wells.
The 6-foot-1 defensive back out of Brunswick, GA racked up five total tackles in three preseason games with the Patriots in ’23. He also picked up five (four solo) with one pass deflection in the ’22 preseason.
Mosely, 24, originally signed with Dallas as an undrafted free agent back in 2022. He was later released by the Cowboys at the end of training camp and spent time on the practice squad with the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the Patriots on Dec. 5, 2022. The former Wildcat was elevated to New England’s active roster for the game vs. Miami on Jan. 1, 2023 and made his NFL debut.
