The clock is ticking. It’s almost Will Levis time in Nashville.

Tennessee starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill suffered a high ankle sprain two weeks ago in London. Malik Willis was the next man up. The former third round pick completed 4-of-5 passes for 74 yards in the fourth quarter of the loss, but he took five sacks and left much to be desired.

Tuesday morning Tennessee head coach Mike Vrabel met with the media and revealed Tannehill has not practiced. If he is still unhealthy at the end of the week, both Levis and Willis will take reps at quarterback Sunday at Nissan Stadium against the Atlanta Falcons.

Vrabel did not divulge many details about the potential two-quarterback situation. “If Ryan can’t play, I’d expect both of them to play.” They each logged significant snaps last week in practice during the Tennessee bye week.

“I thought they looked good, I thought they were efficient, I thought they were excited to be out there,” said Vrabel. “We got some good work in, good throwing in, then another couple of days of practice and getting some much needed speed work.”

Former Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan said on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast that he expects Will Levis to be the starter this Sunday against the Falcons. However, he admitted, “My sources are not the most reliable. They’re reliable, but not reliable where I’m for sure this is going to happen. I’m just letting you know that Will Levis will probably start this week against the Atlanta Falcons.”

The Titans traded up to select Levis with the second pick of the second round in the 2023 NFL Draft. The former Kentucky quarterback played sparingly in the preseason after he injured his thigh during training camp.

Levis transferred to Kentucky from Penn State and in his final two years led the Wildcats to a 17-7 record as a starter. He completed 65.7 percent of his passes for 5,232 yards, 43 touchdowns and 23 interceptions.

What will Will Levis look like in his first NFL action? Damn good. This week Tennessee is rolling out throwback uniforms that pay homage to the organization’s first home in Houston. The Oilers’ powder blue and red will be on display for the 1 pm EST kickoff at Nissan Stadium.
