Kentucky had to address tailback in the transfer portal this offseason. After Ahmad Hardy committed to Missouri, we saw the program directly pivot to Nebraska tailback Dante Dowdell and immediately secure a commitment. That gives offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan and running backs coach Jay Boulware a clear top two with Dowdell and Jamarion Wilcox, but depth is an issue.

The program only has four scholarship tailbacks on the roster. Pulling a double-dip in the portal was always a possibility. Kentucky is still in the market for help at the position.

Utah State transfer Rahsul Faison has made contact with the Kentucky coaching staff.

Rahsul Faison was one of numerous former junior college players to receive an extra year of eligibility thanks to a lawsuit injunction filed by Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia. The tailback played for Marshall in 2021 before moving to junior college in 2022. The Pennsylvania native has spent the last two seasons in the Mountain West and rushed for 1,109 yards as a senior in 2024 after rushing for 736 yards as a junior.

Kentucky remains in the mix for Faison as the transfer works on getting visits scheduled in January after the current recruiting dead period ends. We are unsure how serious this recruitment will get between Kentucky and the former junior college transfer, but the preliminary contact does prove that the staff is still looking for some help at tailback.
