Randall Cobb in New York Jets camp on HBO's "Hard Knocks"
Randall Cobb isn’t done yet.
Back in May, the former Kentucky QB/WR escaped retirement when he reunited with longtime friend and teammate Aaron Rodgers in New York. Cobb signed a one-year deal with the Jets worth $3 million plus a signing bonus and incentives for his 13th season in the National Football League.
Last night, Cobb resurfaced in his new shade of green in the first episode of the new “Hard Knocks” season, following the Jets through training camp.
Cobb’s screen time was limited on opening night, but he was handpicked by Rodgers, the show’s star, to be one of the Jets’ receivers, so expect him to be featured on future episodes and in the Jets’ talented wide receiver room.
Another former Packer and Rodgers’ target, Allen Lazard, also made the move to New York with Rodgers and Cobb after five years in Green Bay.
Packers fans aren’t handling it well.
Cobb, who will turn 33 during camp, recently said the new workplace re-energized Rodgers.
“Imagine being somewhere for 18 years then going someplace new. I can see it on his face. He’s still him, still learning in a new environment. The jersey’s still red right now, that didn’t change. When he puts the helmet on, he looks different. Then 8, it’s different. I’m used to calling him 12.”

Yesterday, Cobb caught a TD pass from his re-energized friend, seen below from the team’s Instagram story.
Maybe next week we’ll get HBO’s theatrical version of the touchdown and more on Cobb’s move to New York for Year 13.
Another former Wildcat made a brief appearance
At the end of the episode, another former Kentucky star, Chris Westry, made his HBO debut during the show’s look at the Jets’ first preseason game versus Westry’s Browns. Westry made sure he linked up with Rodgers at midfield after the Hall of Fame game.
