Randall Cobb reunites with Aaron Rodgers, signs with Jets
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Randall Cobb is reuniting with Aaron Rodgers, the most inseparable duo in the NFL.
Almost immediately after the New York Jets traded for the legendary quarterback, Rodgers decided to call up his old buddy and ask if he wanted to join him at his next stop. To no one’s surprise, Cobb happily accepted the opportunity.
“Former Packers’ WR Randall Cobb is expected to agree to a one-year deal with the New York Jets, allowing him to play with Aaron Rodgers in NY,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday. “The two men who walked off the field together in Green Bay now get to do more work to do together.”
A 12-year pro, Cobb has recorded 7,585 total receiving yards to go with 53 touchdowns while adding 364 rushing yards in the regular season. He’s added an additional 596 yards and five touchdowns in seven playoff appearances as a Packer.

Green Bay selected the former Wildcat with the 64th pick in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, spending his first eight seasons with the Packers, including a Pro Bowl selection in 2014. He spent one-year stints in Dallas and Houston in 2019 and 2020, respectively, before finding his way back to Green Bay — and Rodgers — from 2021-22.
Now with his buddy taking his talents to the Big Apple, he is doing the same.
During his three-year career at Kentucky, Cobb racked up 1,661 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns to go with 1,313 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground. He added 689 passing yards and five touchdowns through the air, along with a combined 1,700 punt/kick return yards with two scores, solidifying himself as one of the most versatile players in UK football history.
He earned First-Team All-SEC honors in 2009 and 2010 while also being named a First-Team All-American in 2010.
