RAPID REACTION: Brian Robinson is a Kentucky Wildcat
Brian Robinson was one of the most sought after recruits from the state of Ohio in the 2024 recruiting class. Vince Marrow weathered the rocky recruiting waters before reeling in one of his biggest commitments to date.
A Youngstown native, Brian Robinson is just the third top 150 defensive prospect to ever commit to Mark Stoops’ program in Lexington. The ninth-ranked EDGE in the country, he’s the No. 131 player overall according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s the highest-ranked player in the Wildcats’ Top 25 2024 recruiting class.
Over the summer he officially visited Kentucky, Penn State and Michigan. While others wavered, Kentucky remained steadfast throughout his recruitment.
“What made Kentucky the right school for me was the consistency. It never changed from day one,” Robinson told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Kentucky was always one of my favorite schools, even when they had other schools crystalballed higher than Kentucky, Kentucky never treated me differently. They never wavered in their consistency. They were the first Power 5 school to offer me.
“Coach (Vince) Marrow offered me and he told me in the beginning, he said, ‘After this offer they’re all going to come. Be patient, do your due diligence, take your time. I’ll be here when you’re ready.’ And he kept that. He never pressured me, he never told me — you know I’ve had schools tell me, ‘You need to hurry up and commit before we fill the board up.’ Kentucky never told me that. They told me from day one you have a home here, you will always have a home here no matter what.”

Marrow is a childhood friend of Robinson’s father. That connection played a significant role in this recruitment. The Cats became the clear choice when he watched Kentucky dominate Florida Saturday at Kroger Field.
“Everything that I asked for, they showed me,” Robinson said. “I had a checklist in the beginning of my recruiting process from education all the way to housing. They checked every box.”
RAPID REACTION: Brian Robinson Commitment
Robinson announced his commitment to the Cats on Kentucky Sports Radio.
“I chose Kentucky because I felt it was the best fit for me when it came to the people, the program and its values,” he told Matt Jones.
Over on the KSR YouTube Channel, Adam Luckett and I broke down what the addition means for the Wildcats as the continue to stack up blue chip recruiting wins in the front seven.
