Rapid Reaction: High Quality Open Kentucky Football Practice

For the second straight day, the Kentucky Sports Radio crew was on the sidelines to watch Mark Stoops’ Wildcats practice. This calls for a Rapid Reaction.

Keep in mind, it’s just the first two days of practice with helmets and shoulder pads. In that spirit, there’s no need to overreact, however, this is a Rapid Reaction. We gotta bring some juice.

The biggest early winner from the two practices was Cutter Boley. While primarily working with the twos, you could see clear improvement from year one to year two. He was patient and had a great feel in the pocket. Simply put, he just looked more comfortable while dicing up the second-team defense.

Two other winners were two of his targets, Hardley Gilmore and Montavin Quisenberry. The former has the highest ceiling of any player in the wide receiver room, and it consistently showed. There have always been questions about the size of Boyle County’s Mr. Football. We saw more answers than questions from Quisenberry. The kid is a ball-player.

One other big winner was Big Blue Nation. If you live your life online, it can be difficult to find Kentucky football optimism. The online fanbase is just a sliver of BBN. There were plenty of Kentucky football fans who touched grass by standing on it and watching the Wildcats go to work on a beautiful day in Lexington.
