Rapid Reaction: Kentucky Football Fan Day Delivers the Goods

There are many reasons why we love the return of Kentucky football. We spent all day Wednesday on KSBoard sharing our favorites aspects of football season. There was a big one omitted by this humble blogger: the sound of pads popping.
Kentucky completed its fourth practice Saturday morning. Mark Stoops opened his doors to the Big Blue Nation for Fan Day and the Kentucky faithful was treated to the team’s most physical practice to date.
“I thought our physicality is starting to come back on the offensive side of the ball and I want to continue to see that,” Stoops said after practice.

Super senior tight end Brenden Bates could feel the intensity increase from Friday’s first session in shoulder pads. It’s not that the players were hitting harder. The competition was intense during each play, and sometimes after the whistle was blown.
KSR’s resident football guys, Nick Roush and Adam Luckett, loved what they saw from the Wildcats, particularly up front. You’ll also hear which playmakers produced and have bright futures this fall in Liam Coen’s revitalized offense.
