KSR Rapid Reaction from Knoxville following Kentucky's win at Tennessee

WHAT A NIGHT IN KNOXVILLE. Kentucky has made a habit of that recently, and the Cats did it once again to open the Mark Pope era, defeating Tennessee 78-73 for a sixth top-15 victory this season.

Down a starting point guard for all of the game and a starting forward for 95 percent of it — plus the backup guard since December 7 — UK scraped together a gutsy performance inside Thompson-Boling Arena that saw five different players score in double figures and 12 3-pointers fall.

How did it all come together for the blue and white? Just how good does it feel to celebrate yet another rivalry victory on their home floor — one that still doesn’t have a Final Four banner hanging in the rafters, mind you? And what does it mean as the Cats turn the page toward the return of John Calipari on Saturday?
