Ray Davis Celebrates Touchdown with Ls Down at Jack Harlow
Jack Harlow is a punching bag for the BBN whenever he’s watching the Wildcats. The hip-hop superstar from Louisville had front row seats to watch Ray Davis score a game-winning touchdown with just over a minute to play.
The Kentucky running back was at his best in crunch time. After surpassing this season’s 1,000-yard threshold, he had a single-season record within reach. He tied it with a go-ahead score in the fourth quarter following a JJ Weaver fumble recovery.
Davis took the checkdown, made a man miss, then ran 20 yards right through the middle of the Louisville defense to give Kentucky a 31-24 lead.
Following the play, Davis found Jack Harlow in the front row and reminded him who owns the Governor’s Cup. He was one of just a few players with Ls Down ready for the Louisville kid.
“If I get into the end zone, I’m throwing Ls Down right in that guy’s face,” he recalled. “He wasn’t around, so I just kept going. Hopefully the second touchdown I could find him. When all the superstars come out, it’s always best to ruin their Saturdays. Now he’s gotta go back home and go start recording I guess.”
Ray Davis Gets It
He has not been in Lexington for long. The Vanderbilt transfer quickly learned what it means for the Big Blue Nation and Davis delivered in two big rivalry games.

“I knew there was a lot of bad blood between Louisville and Kentucky,” he said after the win. “I knew this was a game lot of people had marked on their calendar because of the rivalry behind it. For me, it’s big to be a part of it. I’m happy I was able to be a part of two big rivalries with Florida and Louisville. Now whenever you mention Florida or Louisville, you’re going to have to mention Ray Davis.”
Davis scored three touchdowns, including a pair of go-ahead scores in the fourth quarter, to set a new single-season record with 20 touchdowns from scrimmage.
“I don’t necesarrily worry about the touchdowns. I worry about what I can do for my team. If that’s running the ball or catching the ball, that’s all that matters,” said Davis.
“My one year here, I just want to say thank you to everybody. Thank you to everybody that was a part of this journey, who’s been with me through the ups and downs. I know there were some days where things were rough and there were some days where things were great. To be able to cement my name in history with the best of them — Benny, C-Rod and Boom — I just hope down the line whoever comes next knows how much it is to come into a position, playing running back at Kentucky, to know you gotta be the man to step up to the plate, win or lose, and be the same guy each and every day.”
