Ray Davis is once again being recognized for his incredible season at Kentucky. The Cats’ senior running back was named Second Team All-American by Sports Illustrated. The news comes the morning after Davis announced he will play in the Gator Bowl vs. Clemson, a change of heart after previously deciding to opt-out to prepare for the NFL Draft.

After transferring to Kentucky from Vanderbilt, Davis totaled 1,066 yards on 186 carries and 13 touchdowns rushing this season, along with 317 yards and seven touchdowns receiving on 29 catches. His 20 total touchdowns and 120 points scored are new Kentucky Football single-season records and tops in the SEC.

Davis is believed to be the only player in NCAA history with 1,000-yard seasons at three different Division I schools, previously crossing that mark at Vanderbilt and Temple. He is definitely the only player in SEC history to do it at two different league schools. His 3,563 career rushing yards are the fourth-most among active players in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.

In short, Ray Davis rocks and we get to see him play in a Kentucky jersey one more time, which also rocks.
