As Kentucky fans, we have been trained to hate the color red since birth; however, when it comes to Reed Sheppard, we’ll bend the rules a bit.

The Houston Rockets shared some pictures of Reed, the No. 3 overall draft pick, in his new uniform today. While we adore Reed, there’s no denying that seeing him in Rockets red and black is a little jarring. Thank goodness for that “Rockets” across the chest or I’d be worried we were living in an alternate reality.

The first look comes just days before Reed’s debut in the NBA Summer League. Tonight, the California Classic and the Salt Lake City Summer Leagues wrap up, making way for the main event in Las Vegas July 12-22. Reed and the Rockets tip things off Friday vs. the Los Angeles Lakers at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
