Reed Sheppard was among the biggest risers in the latest 247Sports Rankings for the class of 2022, jumping 45 spots up to No. 17 overall (prev. No. 62).

Sheppard was tied for the largest leap in the class, joining fellow Kentucky target Justin Edwards with a 45-spot jump (No. 56 to No. 11).

“Sharing the title as the top stock riser in the updated rankings is Kentucky native Reed Sheppard,” 247Sports’ Travis Branham wrote. “The 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard consistently proved himself on the 3SSB 17U Circuit all summer long with the Midwest Basketball Club. He is the son of former Kentucky basketball stars, Jeff and Stacy Sheppard, and possesses a very high floor as a prospect. He is a terrific shooter from three who makes shots off the catch and pull, he has a very high IQ and feel for the game, is a great passer with outstanding vision and is a big time competitor. Regardless of the setting, Sheppard has consistently impressed each time out on the floor and is a true winner.”

Coming in at No. 17 overall, Sheppard is the No. 3 combo guard in the junior class and the No. 1 player in the state. The in-state standout holds offers from Arizona State, Clemson, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Texas A&M and Virginia, among others. The Wildcats and Cavaliers are seen as the top contenders in his recruitment.
