Reed Sheppard is on the board as a pro, scoring on a bucket you’ve seen a million times to open preseason play for the Houston Rockets.

The No. 3 overall pick came off a screen on the right wing before pulling up for the elbow jumper, sinking the 15-footer with ease to give him his first points going into the 2024-25 NBA season.

It’s not the only highlight of the night for the former Kentucky star, who also found Amen Thompson on a full-court heave for a dunk in transition, leading to some oohs and aahs from the commentators.

Touchdown, Reed Sheppard.

And how about a forced turnover leading to a bucket the other direction?

Sheppard would finish with four points (2-7 FG), three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in 20 minutes of game action.

Not too shabby for a kid from Kentucky — with plenty of room to grow going into his rookie campaign.
