Reid Travis teams up with Oscar Tshiebwe in the G-League
Reid Travis came to Kentucky as a graduate transfer from Stanford during the 2018-2019 season. Travis served as an enforcer down low for the ‘Cats, averaging 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in his lone season in Lexington, which was just slightly behind future pro, PJ Washington.
In fact, that team featured six future NBA players. In addition to Washington, Nick Richards, Tyler Herro, Immanuel Quickley, and Keldon Johnson are all in the midst of great NBA careers. Ashton Hagans has also had a cup of coffee in the Association and most recently signed with the Trail Blazers on an Exhibit-10 contract.
Now, Reid Travis is vying to make it seven players from that team to play in the NBA. Travis signed with the Indianapolis Pacers on October 17th but the team waived him the very next day. The organization came back to him on October 28th and signed him to their G-League affiliate, the Indiana Mad Ants, teaming him up with another Kentucky bruiser, Oscar Tshiebwe.
Travis has a solid opening night in the G-League
In their first game of the season on Saturday, Tshiebwe set all the records, grabbing 23 rebounds to go along with his 33 points in his team’s 129-114 victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce, but Travis had a good outing as well, nearing notching his own double-double.

Travis led the Mad Ants in minutes played at 33, scored 14 points on 6-17 shooting, and brought down nine rebounds. He also chipped in two assists and a blocked shot.
After going undrafted in 2019, Travis signed with the Atlanta Hawks Summer League squad but has since played overseas in both Germany and Japan. Indiana now provides him with his first shot in the NBA G-League.
Hopefully, Oscar leaves a few rebounds out there for his Kentucky brother and new teammate.
