Trazarien White was enemy No. 1 for Kentucky and Big Blue Nation back on December 2, the UNC Wilmington star dropping 27 points on the Wildcats inside Rupp Arena to help pull off the upset. And it came on the day the program unveiled its brand-new floor, one that would never be seen again the remainder of the season.

It was a dark day in Lexington, but could it lead to a bright one this offseason under Mark Pope? White is in the transfer portal and has heard from the new staff, he told Jacob Polacheck of KSR+ on Thursday.

“Growing up, Kentucky has always been a powerhouse team,” White told Polacheck. “Every kid grows up watching and wishing to play at a blueblood. Kentucky is one of those schools. With the greats that they’ve put in the league, they’re really the face of the NBA.

White entered the portal early Thursday morning, the Wildcats joining the likes of Arkansas, Mississippi State, Texas Tech, Baylor, SMU, Oklahoma and West Virginia to reach out right away. The 6-7 forward averaged 19.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest on the year, shooing 49.3% from the field and 39.0% from three.

He tells KSR+ he’s currently lining visits up with the Red Raiders, Bulldogs, Bears and Razorbacks, but could see what the Wildcats have to offer in Lexington if talks continue to ramp up.

His biggest goal?

“Since this is my last year, I want to go to the tournament,” he said.

Time to bring home a familiar face to Lexington.
