Report: Arkansas to Hire Nevada's Eric Musselman
According to 247 Sports’ Evan Daniels, Arkansas is close to hiring Nevada’s Eric Musselman as their head basketball coach.
This would be another big-time coaching hire by Kentucky’s SEC foes. Musselman has been at Nevada for four seasons, leading the Wolfpack to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet Sixteen in 2018.
Musselman’s record with Nevada was an impressive 110-34, including 28 or more wins in each of the last three seasons. During his time in Reno, he brought in a barrage of talent, including NC State transfers Caleb and Cody Martin and five-star center Jordan Brown.
Before his successful campaign at Nevada, Musselman was the head coach for the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, as well as an assistant at LSU. He’s now making his way back to the SEC – this time, as a head coach.

Arkansas recently fired Mike Anderson, one of John Calipari’s rivals, after eight seasons with the program. Anderson finished 169-102 with the Razorbacks, but it was time for a change.
Musselman would make another good coaching addition to the SEC. The competition has picked up with the conference being as good as it’s been in recent memory. Now, it’ll only get better with the probable addition of Arkansas’ new head coach.
