Multiple news sources are reporting that Mitchell Robinson will return to WKU to play basketball for the Hilltoppers this season. If you haven't been following this story it has probably been the craziest recruiting story of the past few years. Robinson is a five-star recruit and a consensus top-10 player. The Louisiana native was previously committed to Texas A&M, where now-WKU Head Coach Rick Stansbury was an assistant. When Stansbury moved to WKU, Robinson followed and became the highest signed recruit in WKU history. Then the fun started... Here is your timeline:
-
- July 8th- Jeff Goodman reports that Robinson is considering not coming to WKU
- July 10th- He arrives on campus
- July 28th- Robinson leaves campus
- July 31st- Stansbury suspends Robinson indefinitely
- August 1st- Robinson is granted his release from the program
- August 27th- Robinson is returning to WKU
This is an insane story for the Hilltoppers and while it is not directly related to Kentucky, it has been a lot of fun to follow from our friends down in Bowling Green. Along with KSR, I am the host of a WKU sports radio show, it has been interesting to hear everyone's opinion on whether WKU should allow Robinson to return. It leads me to ask this question, if you were WKU, would you allow him back? Let me know, why or why not, in the comments below.
