Rex Chapman will be studio analyst during March Madness
March Madness is up and running with Championship Week, but the big party gets started next week. Former Kentucky great Rex Chapman will be apart of the festivities.
Throughout the NCAA Tournament, CBS Sports and Turner Sports will be the college basketball’s home as the field of 68 gets dwindled down to just over the course of just three weeks. All 67 games will be shown on four networks — CBS, TBS, TNT, truTV — and bringing the coverage will be a wide range of announcers and other television personalities.
College basketball aficianado Jon Rothstein will be a sideline reporter for the play-in games in Dayton. Former WHAS-11 sports achor Adam Lefkoe will provide studio updates from New York City throughout the first weekend. National college basketball reporter Andy Katz will be a game reporter during the first two rounds.
Chapman will also be helping out.
The 12-year NBA veteran was a first-team All-SEC performer at Kentucky in 1988 before becoming a top-10 pick selected by the Charlotte Hornets. Now, the Owensboro (Ky.) Apollo product works in media and he’ll be assisting Turner Sports with coverage during the Big Dance.
Rex Chapman will be working as a studio analyst in Atlanta and will be assisting with tournament coverage all the way through the first three rounds of the tournament beginning with the First Four on March 15. Expect to see the former Kentucky star early and often throughout the NCAA Tournament.

However, Chapman is not the only big name. Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson are all back this season. The trio will be joined by Greg Gumbel, Clark Kellogg, and Wally Sczerbiak in studio. Elsewhere, Candace Parker, Seth Davis and Dwyane Wade will join Chapman in the Atlanta studios.
The coverage will be jam-packed throughout March Madness.
Announcing teams were also released
Knowing who is in the studio is fun, but most of the commentary heard during the tournament will be during the game. Once again, CBS and Turner Sports has a full roster of announcers with the A team taking over for Final Four coverage in New Orleans.
Team 1: Jim Nantz, Bill Raftery, Grant Hill, and Tracy Wolfson
Team 2: Brian Anderson, Jim Jackson, and Allie LaForce
Team 3: Ian Eagle, Jim Spanarkel, and Jamie Erdahl
Team 4: Kevin Harlan, Dan Bonner, Reggie Miller, and Dana Jacobson
Team 5: Lisa Byington, Steve Smith, Avery Johnson, and Lauren Shehadi
Team 6: Andrew Catalon, Steve Lappas, and Andy Katz
Team 7: Spero Dedes, Deb Antonelli, and AJ Ross
Team 8: Brad Nessler, Brendan Haywood, and Evan Washburn
As long as Kentucky plays long enough, expect the team of Nantz/Raftery/Hill/Wolfson to call a few games this March and hopefully early April.
