Rhyne Howard honors Terrence Clarke, finishes top-three in WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest
Former Kentucky women’s basketball superstar Rhyne Howard was a top-three finisher in the WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest — and she looked the part in the process.
Invited to participate in the 3-Point and Skills Competitions at WNBA All-Star Weekend, Howard arrived on the red carpet sporting a Kentucky blue letterman jacket honoring the late Terrence Clarke.
The jacket featured Clarke’s signature logo, a blue heart with a basketball and ‘TC5’ on her chest. She also wore a dog tag with a photo of Clarke around her neck.

She followed up her walk on the red carpet with a top-three finish in the 3-point contest, scoring 24 points in the first round to advance to the finals. Howard joined Allie Quigley of the Chicago Sky and Ariel Atkins of the Washington Mystics in the final round.
Howard couldn’t stay hot late, finishing with 14 points, good for third. Quigley went nuclear with 30 points to become the first four-time 3-point contest champion in WNBA or NBA history. Atkins added 21 points to finish second.

The former Wildcat was also invited to participate in the Skills Challenge, but was knocked out in the opening round.
Howard’s time in Chicago at WNBA All-Star Weekend doesn’t end today. She’ll be on the main stage participating in the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game, which will tip-off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. The rookie standout is on Team Wilson, joining the likes of Sylvia Fowles, Candace Parker, Kelsey Plum and Sabrina Ionescu, among others.
Through 18 games for the Atlanta Dream this season, Howard is averaging a team-high 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 38.3 percent from the floor, 37.3 percent from 3-point range on 7.0 attempts, and 74.1 percent from the free-throw line. Her 47 made triples rank fourth in the entire league.
